NOVEL online database lessons our fourth grade students used to learn about How Waterways Impact Development of Communities. Students used NOVEL databases in their investigations focusing on Rochester’s development and the Erie Canal. Students used the Research packet developed by RCSD Librarians’ Collegial Circle as their framework for research. This unit was collaboratively planned and taught by Mrs. Futrell, and Mrs. Lamanna and Ms. Drysdale.

Ms. Futrell, librarian; Ms. Mauer, a library student at Syracuse; and Ms. Piper and her 3rd grade students went on a science webquest study of plants.
